NEW PROGRAMS COMING SOON, PLEASE CHECK BACK WITH US.

Girls and STEM
Statistics show that many careers of the future will require STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) training. These careers are typically higher paying and companies are increasingly turning to women to fill their positions. A recent report, Generation STEM: What Girls Say About Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, issued by the Girl Scouts of America, found that many teen girls are interested in STEM fields and subjects but need more exposure, education and experience in these arenas. The Museum is dedicated to exposing girls of all ages to science by offering opportuni-ties to explore the skills required in STEM careers in a fun, supportive atmosphere.

Register Early

If your troop is not able to attend a workshop session, but you would still like to have your scouts work on that badge, you can still schedule a program for your scouts for school holidays/days off. Weekend dates are also a possibility, depending upon staff availability. Please consult your school calendar when scheduling workshops/programs so that you are aware of holiday weekends, etc. Please do not register for Museum programs at the Girl Scout Council Headquarters!

Do You Love the Earth?

If so, help us to reduce the amount of paper we use for mass mailings. If you would like to receive scouting information via e-mail, send us your e-mail address at k.shehorn@jolietmuseum.org.

You will receive periodic e-mails updating you about programs at the Museum and together, we’ll save a tree. If you like what you see, pass it on to a fellow leader. On the other hand, if you are no longer a leader or would prefer not to receive our mailings, let us know and we’ll take your name off of the mailing list.

Happy Scouting!
