The ROOFTOP Summer Music Series is back by popular demand!

This summer, a different live performance is featured each month on the JolietAreaHistoricalMuseum's Outdoor Rooftop Terrace! Doors open at 6:45 pm and performers take the stage at 7:30 pm. Beer, wine, & soft drinks are available for purchase (coffee and snacks are free). In case of inclement weather, shows will be held in the Museum's indoor auditorium.
Only $8.00 for Students with valid I.D. and JAHM Members or $10.00 for General Public.

JUNE 6th – BIG DOG MERCER
For over a decade, Marty “Big Dog” Mercer’s heartfelt, southpaw Blues and soulful voice has growled through the Chicagoland music scene. Mercer’s ability to combine emotional lyrics with aggressive slide guitar makes him an artist unlike any other. "He has a way of singing that is extremely reminiscent of the old school blues players.

JULY 11th – CLASSICAL BLAST!
Classic Rock…With a Classical Twist!
Classical Blast is a fresh take on rock music! Classical Blast’s style, technique and tools breathe new life into contemporary rock music as well as the classics. From Bach to classic rock (Pink Floyd, Steve Miller, Eric Clapton, SuperTramp) to contemporary rock & pop (Metallica, Green Day, The Verve, ColdPlay, Hootie & The Blowfish, Eurythmics & MORE)! Classical Blast brings the classical arts to mainstream entertainment. An evening with Classical Blast is a total blast for all ages!

AUGUST 8th – SOUL MOTION
Soul Motion is here to wash your blues away and put the groove in your feet by tapping the music of the soul, Blues, R&B and Rock & Roll greats. You'll hear classic hits from the likes of James Brown, Joe Cocker, The Impressions, and more recent gems as well - all with the infectious power to get you dancing the night away!
And the party comes with more than just the music!

SEPTEMBER 12th – BIG GUITARS FROM MEMPHIS
They aren’t really from Memphis, but their music sounds like it. Big Guitars From Memphis plays a blend of American Music, mixing together rock, blues, country, jazz, and more! “We play some things at breakneck speed,” said John Ivan, lead guitarist in Big Guitars From Memphis. “We keep it going, but we’re relaxed doing it.”  An original member of the power pop band Off Broadway, which scored a hit in 1979 with the song “Stay In Time,” Ivan formed Big Guitars From Memphis in 1988 with John Pazdan.

Coming this Summer . . .
The Fabulous 50s and 60s with The Legacy Girls
Luncheon and Musical Performance

Wednesday, July 17, 2013 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Enjoy a diner-themed buffet at the Renaissance Center and then head over to the Museum for the concert as the Legacy Girls present the Fabulous 50s and 60s. They’ll sing favorites that will get you up and dancing like My Boyfriend’s Back, Jailhouse Rock, My Guy, Crazy, It’s My Party, Unforgettable, and more.

The cost of this program is $30 for Members and $34 for non-members. The cost of the concert only is $13 for Museum Members and $17 for non-members. Advance registration and payment is due by Monday, July 8 and can be made by calling Kim at 815-723-5201, ext. 235.
